Dear All,
I thought I should keep you up to date about what is happening with me. Earlier this year I had gone to the Doctor about a sinus problem, she discovered a lump in my neck and sent me to a specialist. The specialist took a needle biopsy and I sent this away to the top specialist in New York. It was decided to remove the lump and get it sent away to see what was happening. It showed signs of cancer, this being the secondary area. I then went to the States to get a PET scan which showed cancer areas around my neck. I eventually, after going on a very stringent diet, decided to go and see the expert in New York. He reckoned that the primary was in my right tonsil and I should have both removed and do some biopsies of other areas around my nose and throat. This I had done on Monday of last week. I should get my result this week coming and then I will have to decide what I will do.
I just wanted everyone to understand why you have not been around KickStart so much. I will keep you all informed and I thank you all for your prayers and best wishes

D. Porter made the president’s report focusing on accomplishments over the past year. The main being the taking over of the use of the CIBC/FCIB/Kickstart facility. Kickstart FC has leased with CIBC/FCIB which makes this our new home. Other accomplishments being the success of our first Kickstart Tournament and the acquirement of a new ‘A’ rated coach, Julian Broomes. Additionally, Earl Mayers was commended on the development of a new website for Kickstart FC that will be extremely interactive and allow us to post all of the information and achievements for all members to be in tune.
S. Jardine delivered the financial statements for 2010-2011. He confirmed that the club is currently in a financially strong position but due to our new acquirement of the CIBC/FCIB facilities, we have lease costs and other expenses that will come along with this acquirement. Additionally, wages and other club expenses are on the rise so it is critical to focus on club memberships, prompt payments and corporate sponsorships.

Test
Its great to have one of our own back who is flying the flag for KickStart FC and Barbados.Taurean was spotted by the High Point Univerity Head Coach when we went to play in the Score Showcase Tournamnet in Greensboro, North Carolina. We are hoping that more of our players will be following. KickStart FC is very proud of Taurean and his great attitude.
Here are some great words form Taurean.
TAUREAN GREENIDGE
My experience so far at High Point University has been nothing short of life-changing. Adapting to the completely different lifestyle of America was quite difficult at first, but has become more and more enjoyable as time goes by; but all it takes is little getting used to.
The level of football here is much higher than in Barbados, especially when it comes to fitness, speed of play and overall knowledge of the game, so I really had to step up my game tremendously. It is also a much more disciplined environment and requires a lot of dedication and heart.
My weekly routine is quite hectic. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are all field training days, where we do a lot of technical stuff and ball work. Tuesdays and Thursdays we have weight training early in the mornings. My routine includes classes everyday, which are not too bad, as long as you do the work.
Balancing academics and football at the same time can be difficult at times, but it takes a lot of discipline and effort. It is a lot of hard work, but it is also very enjoyable and will definitely pay off in the end. I believe that any one of my fellow Kickstart teammates would easily fit in here and become successful.
